ReplayFoundry is a local-first Windows video application. Core media analysis, editing, project storage, captioning, and rendering work with files on your computer. ReplayFoundry does not operate a developer-owned cloud media library.

Information the app uses

Files you choose

The app reads video, audio, thumbnail, project, and supporting files that you explicitly select or create. It may create local project state, bounded preview media, caches, rendered clips, captions, transcripts, metadata, and diagnostic records. Their local paths are controlled by the app's documented storage settings and your output choices.

YouTube information

YouTube network access is off by default. If you enable it and connect, ReplayFoundry uses Google OAuth and the YouTube Data API to read the connected channel identity, manageable playlists, and available categories; upload a finalized video and its metadata; optionally set a thumbnail and add the video to a playlist; schedule publication; and check whether a video identifier recorded in local publish history is still available to that account.

ReplayFoundry requests https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube because its optional playlist insertion workflow is not supported by the narrower upload-only scope. It does not use YouTube data for advertising, surveillance, credit decisions, generalized AI training, or sale.

Optional feedback and crash reports

Report delivery is separate from YouTube and off by default. A crash can save a bounded sanitized report to a local outbox, but the crash handler does not upload it. A report leaves your computer only after delivery is enabled and you review and send it. Diagnostics are designed to exclude recordings, rendered media, titles, descriptions, transcripts, credentials, full local paths, and memory dumps.

Storage

  • YouTube refresh credentials are stored for the current Windows user in Windows Credential Manager.
  • Preferences, publish history, unsent reports, and local permissions are stored in the current user's application-data folders.
  • Source media, rendered outputs, thumbnails, and durable projects remain in local storage.
  • ReplayFoundry has no operator-hosted account or media database in the current release.

Network activity

The app communicates with Google only when you explicitly use a YouTube action such as Connect, Refresh, Check status, Upload, or Schedule. Google receives the authorization request and the video, thumbnail, and metadata you choose to publish. Approved runtime-pack installation and update checks may contact the documented ReplayFoundry download service when you initiate or permit them. A reviewed diagnostic report may be sent to the fixed ReplayFoundry support endpoint when enabled. The app does not silently substitute arbitrary network services.

Sharing and sale

Expired Soda Studios LLC does not sell Google user data, diagnostics, transcripts, recordings, or personal information. Information is shared with Google only to perform the YouTube actions you request, with an approved support endpoint only when you send a report, with infrastructure vendors only as necessary for the requested service, or when required by law.

Retention, access, and deletion

YouTube access remains until you disconnect, revoke access in your Google Account, or the credential expires or becomes invalid. Disconnect attempts Google revocation and removes the locally stored refresh credential. Local reports and project data remain until you delete them. The Settings area includes controls for relevant caches, reports, preferences, and local records. Details are on the Data deletion page.

If Expired Soda Studios LLC receives a valid request to delete Google user data it holds, it will complete the request as soon as practical and no later than 30 calendar days unless retention is legally required.

Security

Google authorization uses the system browser, a loopback redirect, random state, and PKCE. ReplayFoundry does not request your Google password or embed a Google client secret. Network requests use HTTPS. No security control is perfect; keep Windows and ReplayFoundry updated and protect your Windows account.

Children

ReplayFoundry is a general-audience creator tool and is not directed to children under 13. Creators are responsible for choosing the correct audience designation for each YouTube upload.

Google API Services disclosure

ReplayFoundry's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Use of YouTube features is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
